Salieu Taal

Managing Partner
Salieu Taal is the Managing Partner of Temple Legal Practitioners a niche corporate legal practice with a diverse clientele in the Gambia and the sub region. Salieu Taal holds an Upper Second Degree in Law from the University of Buckingham and a Masters of Degree in International Relations from the London Centre for International Relations, University of Kent. He is a Barrister at Law of England & Wales of the Honourable Inner Temple and also enrolled as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of the Gambia. Mr. Taal started his career briefly in the United Kingdom and subsequently moved back to the Gambia as part of the start-up management team of GT Bank Gambia Ltd a subsidiary of GT Bank Plc. He rose to the position of Group Head, Legal, Administration, Corporate Affairs and Secretary to the Board. Mr. Taal has a wealth of expertise in Company Law, Banking, Property and Information Technology Law. Mr. Taal is a bilingual lawyer (French / English) and represents client’s interests in multiple jurisdictions in the West Africa. Mr. Taal has advised and closed deals in the Gambia and neighbouring countries in the Sub region. He currently serves as Board Member of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce, American Gambia Chamber of Commerce in the Gambia, Information Technology Association of the Gambia, Consumer Protection Association of the Gambia, Gambia Internet Service Providers Association. Mr. Taal has great experience in corporate governance and serves on a number of Boards in the Gambia including the Gambia Chamber of Commerce, American Gambia Chamber of Commerce, RLG Gambia Limited, Gamworks Agency. He is the current Vice President of the Gambia Bar Association. Mr. Taal has been involved in the establishment of a number of non–charitable foundations in the Gambia and has provided legal advise and support for numerous non-profit organizations in the Gambia.

Modou is the joint Managing Partner of Temple Legal Practitioners. He was educated at the University of Buckingham University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in law. Thereafter he graduated from the Sierra Leone Law School. Mr. Drameh commenced his practice at ECOWAS Chambers wich started in 1967 as a managing partner in 1999. His practice, covered civil, criminal litigation and transactions. Mr. Drameh has been Managing Partner at Temple Legal Practitioners since 2006.Modou has appeared at the Supreme Court of The Gambia, the Gambia Court of Appeal, the High Court of The Gambia and Magistrate Courts. Assisted in preparing the first brief of the first case of the Gambian Supreme Court.

Mr. Drameh’s practice includes corporate and commercial law, banking law, litigation, property law and I.T. law. He has been the retained lawyer for a major I.S.P. for the past five years. Modou has wide experience in family law and vast experience in international adoption cases. He is passionate about intellectual property practice. Mr. Drameh has worked as Company Secretary for two banks for 8 years.

Banjugu Nyangado is the newest member of the TLP, graduated with an LLB honours from the University of the Gambia as the Best Student and recently completed his Bar finals from the Law school of the Gambia winning the coveted “Best Company Law student”. During his University education, Banjugu participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition twice and has a wide understanding in International law both public and private. He also took part in a survey course in International Human Rights Law organized by the International Bar Association together with Florida State University. He has obtained training in Intellectual property law, company law as well as in other corporate areas. He is very conversant with the company and commercial laws of the Gambia.

He was part of the legal team that advised private sector in the World Bank supported Public Private Partnership between the Telecommunication operators and the Government for the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE ) Cable to Europe which culminated into the landing of the ACE submarine cable in the Gambia and the incorporation of the Gambia Submarine Cable Company which owns and manages the ACE Submarine Cable station in the Gambia. Mr. Taal advises a number of ICT companies in the Gambia and has structured major ICT projects in the Gambia.
